BCM / BCMB JLR MCU MC9S12XET256

Professional service dedicated to Jaguar Land Rover BCM / BCMB modules equipped with the Freescale MC9S12XET256 (2M53J) microcontroller.

This service allows intervention on the data stored in the module for Emulated EEPROM Recovery and Cloning operations.

Available Operations

You may select one or more services depending on your requirements.

Emulated EEPROM Recovery

Restoration of the emulated memory data of the BCM / BCMB module in case of corruption or loss of configuration.

Faults typically associated with data corruption may include:

• instrument cluster failing to power on;
• inability to start the vehicle;
• malfunctions attributable to the loss or corruption of module data.

This operation can be requested either as file processing or as a full module service.

For file processing, it is necessary to provide the readout of the microcontroller’s D-Flash.

Cloning

Transfer of the necessary data from the original BCM / BCMB module to a compatible target module.

Cloning is available exclusively as a full module service and requires the physical shipment of both the original and the target module.

Both modules must be clearly identified as original and target.

The target module must be technically compatible with the original unit.

Service Modes

File processing

This mode is available exclusively for Emulated EEPROM Recovery.

The customer independently performs the D-Flash readout of the microcontroller and sends the corresponding dump to Tsec Engineering.

The service includes:

• integrity check of the received file;
• recovery of the Emulated EEPROM data;
• processing of the necessary data;
• return of the file ready for programming.

This mode is fully digital and does not require the physical shipment of the BCM / BCMB module.

Full Module Service

The customer physically ships the BCM / BCMB module to Tsec Engineering. The laboratory handles the entire process:

• module identification;
• reading of the required memory;
• data verification;
• execution of the selected operations;
• module programming;
• final testing.

For Emulated EEPROM Recovery, it is sufficient to send the module to be restored.

For Cloning, both the original module and the target module must be sent.

Required Data

Depending on the selected operation and service mode, the following are required:

• Emulated EEPROM Recovery – File processing: D-Flash dump;
• Emulated EEPROM Recovery – Full module service: BCM / BCMB module to be restored;
• Cloning: original BCM / BCMB module and compatible target module;
• any additional information requested by technical support.

Procedure

File processing

1. Purchase the service by selecting Emulated EEPROM Recovery.
2. Read the microcontroller’s D-Flash using a compatible programmer.
3. Send the file to Tsec Engineering, indicating the order reference.
4. Wait for technical verification of the received dump.
5. Receive the recovered Emulated EEPROM file.
6. Correctly repartition the microcontroller memory when required by the programming procedure.
7. Program the received file into the BCM / BCMB module.

Complete module service

1. Purchase the service by selecting the required operations.
2. Ship the BCM / BCMB module to Tsec Engineering.
3. For Cloning, ship both the original module and the destination module, clearly identified.
4. Wait for service execution and final inspection.
5. Receive the processed material at the address specified in the order.

Shipping

For complete service, shipping of modules to Tsec Engineering must be arranged and paid for by the customer.

Shipping costs calculated at checkout refer exclusively to the return of processed material.

Important information

The product includes exclusively the operations selected during purchase.

The module shown in the images is for illustrative purposes only and is not included in the product.

Incomplete, corrupted, or incorrectly acquired dumps may require a new reading.

The service does not correct any hardware defects of the BCM / BCMB module.

For complete services, any hardware damage or previous tampering may require additional checks before intervention.

For Cloning, the destination module must be technically compatible with the original module. The presence of the same connector or similar external appearance alone does not guarantee compatibility.

In case of doubt about compatibility, contact technical support before purchase, providing the Part Number and attaching a legible photograph of the original module label and, in case of cloning, also of the destination module.
